Being in Vietnam with the 101st and spending 6 of 10 years at Fort Campbell, the Don F. Pratt museum is a place I love going to because my writing is part of the history of the 101st.
Very knowledgeable but in transition currently. The museum is very detailed in covering Fort Campbell and the 101st ABN history. They are rebuilding and moving as of 19 July 2016. Only a 4 star because the museum in renovation mode.
A museum representing the rich heritage, military traditions, and sacrifices of the many soldiers who have served in the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT). There is something from every military campaign the division has participated in and lots of weapons and military artifacts for visitors to experience. Above all the best thing is that entrance to the museum is free of charge. However, be prepared to go through the Visitors Center to gain access inside this military base. You will need a valid license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance to obtain a visitors pass. Highly recommend for history buffs or to teach young children about the history of our nation.
Dated but a nice collection full of history and glory, Air Assault all the way.
Nice little museum. It was okay to see once, wish they had some exhibits that were more kid friendly. The military vehicles and aircraft on the grounds are fun to take family to if they visit.
